The first band camp is fast approaching. By now hopefully your students have downloaded the music samples for the opener and second pieces along with their sheet music. Also we all hope they’ve been practicing so that when band camp starts they’ll be able to hit the ground running.
Please remember to have your students dress in light colored clothing. Also, please be sure they bring a cooler with lots of water and/or Gatorade as they’ll need hydration during the day. It’s vital they come prepared for hot weather.
The dates of Band Camp 1 are Monday, July 27th (from 5p.m. to 9p.m.) through Friday, July 31st. Tuesday through Friday camp begins sharply at 8:00a.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m. The students will need to pack a lunch as they’ll eat at the school but they will come home to eat dinner and then return to school for the evening session.
On Tuesday the 28th the Boosters will be cooking lunch for the students so that is the only day they will not need a lunch. We’ll have both a vegetarian dish and a non vegetarian dish.
Car Raffle tickets must be sold. Please remind your students to continue selling those tickets as this fundraiser is one of our driving forces that enable band fees to remain low. Please be sure they sell their 10 tickets and we have more if they should sell those out. If you need tickets or have any questions please send an email to carraffle@lcband.com.
Discount Cards still can be sold. You have until August 11th to sell your discount cards. Remember, this is your way of offsetting your band fees. After your initial 10 cards are sold the money goes directly into your IBA. Let’s be sure to get them sold so the program can continue to thrive!
