If you were involved with the LC Band program, either as a member, or as an instructor, we want to hear from you! Please submit a brief synopsis of your involvement with the program, your current life's status, and information as to how others can reach you. If you are in contact with anyone that was involved, please forward them this web address. Our future success is dependent upon the strength of our past, and involvement of our alumni.

*NOTE* The Alumni section will undergo a re-write to hopefully solve the organizational problem. So if you submit alumni information and you don't see it posted for a long time, wait until I release the re-write, and if it isn't there, please re-submit. Thank you for your patience.

Been quite awhile since I've been in touch with most anyone I knew during my years (93-96) with the band. Chances are if you were there during those years, you knew who I was.. I garnered a bit of attention with the constant stream of pranks and .. all sorts of drama. Anyways, went on to Purdue University in West Lafayette and attained my BS in Electrical Engineering, graduating in May 2001. I've been working in the Chicago loop for Sargent & Lundy (www.sargentlundy.com) as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer since then. Anyone in the area that knew me that'd be interested in meeting up downtown at a concert or bar or something, let me know.

Was a band member under Doug Jordan (the man who built the band program from scratch during Lake Central High school's humble beginings). I was the Trombone Section Leader for 2 years as well as the "Student Conductor of the basketball pep band". After highschool I attended Indiana State University and recieved my Music Education Degree. My Freshman and Sophmore summers I ran the Lake Central band Summer Parade program because Mr. Jordan could not make it back from his summer business in Minnesota. Upon graduation I became the Kahler Middle School Band Director for the next 7 Years. During which I assisted with the Highschool band program in many ways...Brass Instructor/Music Arranger/Helping whomever the director was at that time....I probably have one of the most uique and complete views of the history of the band program. I participated in the early 80s when the program still did "Kick Out" as its marching style....helped the program as a college music major while it was transitioning to Drum and Bugle Corp. style...then got to assist in driecting/teaching/and arranging for the program as a music professional. I have enjoyed all of my experiences with the band program over the many years I was in contact with it and would like to say "Hi!" to all of my fellow ex-bandmen/directors/and students.

What a great website! It brings back so many wonderful memories. Centralettes and the LC Band were my life from Summer of 84 to graduation in 1988. I'm a student of Doug Jordan - yes, Mr. Jordan Rules! I saw him in the post office in Schererville last summer. He's mostly up in Minnesota these days running his business, but summers here to visit his daughter. I felt 15 again talking to him - had to call him Mr. Jordan. He left at the end of my junior year - a very sad day. But, the LC Band has come back stronger than ever! It sure didn't happen overnight though... anyone remember the director immediately after Jordan?? N'uff said.

I'm always very proud to read or hear news about the band, and especially those Centralettes! Go girls - you're doing great. My senior year was the first time we ever competed as our own group - previously, we only competed with the band, as auxillary. We were very nervous to be in a pom competition in Orlando, FL in 87, but had incredible support from our band - AND WON 1ST PLACE. Since graduation in 88, I have been in hotel managment with White Loding Services. I'm a Purdue grad currently living in Schererville again after having moved a couple of times. My husband and I bought and remodeled the house I grew up in after my mom moved to Arizona. Good to be back home, and great to hear some familar stories about LC Band - thanks to Lisa Robin (Weidner) for telling me about this website!

Had some great years back in the 70's. Some of the best fun I had in high school. We were perennial winners of the old NISBOVA format year after year and the band to beat at State for many years running. Those who participated back then remember the Doug Jordan (band director) era and some of the progressive things we were doing in marching band. Doug was a fantastic innovator and knew how to motivate. Many great memories.

Today, I'm in Indianapolis and both my kids are in marching band at Franklin Central HS. I still follow LC and know they still have a great program and reputation. I was able to see LC perform in 2001 at the Center Grove (Indianapolis)competition.

(not too many hu)I'm sure band trips haven't changed much. I learned more from band and Jordan, than the rest of my classes. I was in band for 2 years before getting kicked out right before our trip to Arizona. I graduated from Ball State University in December of 2004 with a B.A. in Telecommunications, with an emphasis in production. Shortly after I graduated, I married a beautiful South American girl named Beulah who I met at Ball State. During my time at BSU, I learned about many methods and practices of production for TV, radio and film. I have my own program that airs on Indiana Public Radio called "The Sound Experiment." This program focuses on many innovations in sound and experimental music that most would simply define as "weird." This was the first student production in Indiana Public Radio's history and though I am no longer in Muncie, the program continues to rerun in all of East Central Indiana. Listen SUN nights at midnight (EST) at www.bsu.edu/ipr I also do some voice work for TV spots, radio and even was a voice in a video game once. Having never read a note of music in my life (yes, that's why I was a terrible drummer) I am quite fond of experimental music. I am hoping for my show to get nationally distributed to show people everywhere that... music doesn't have to be.

It's hard to belive it has been so long. Well, those of you who remember me know I had a good time. I'm going to graduate Columbia with B.A. in Audio Arts and Acoustics. I work for Affiliated Entertainment L.L.C. This company was started by Ronny Marshall, Mike Flynn, and myself in 2000. At present time produce music for Hip-Hop and R&B artists. So far we have two solo and one group album we are working on. The solo album for the artist "Meleyan" should be out soon. None of this would be possible if we hadn't been in band. Feel free to drop an e-mail. Best wishes!

My 4 years at LC (and being in band) were some of the best years of my life! I was part of the TOP during all 4 years and from that I have so many memories that'll last a lifetime! I've attended both Ball State University and Purdue University Calumet...and from there I've gotten my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Currently I'm working on my masters in Special Education. Today (oddly enough) I took a job for this school year at Merrillville High School working with the Special Education Department! Feel free to contact me! I'd love to hear from anyone!! (Well...almost anyone!)
